Roman Akimov graduated from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts — GITIS. His professional training in theatre directing and stage practice became the foundation for his further research in the fields of directing, philosophical anthropology, ontology, dialectics, phenomenology, depth psychology, and the theory of creativity.

He is the creator of Autonica — a system that emerged from nine years of research and practical work, culminating in the publication of its first book on January 7, 2026. Today, the system is represented by three books and forms a holistic concept of the creative process as a way of human existential becoming.

In his artistic position, Akimov regards theatre as an ontological space — not a platform for representation and not an instrument of self-expression, but an environment in which the inner world of a person is revealed, along with their choice, action, and responsibility. This approach defines the artistic direction of Theatre OM.

Under his leadership, the theatre has been formed as an independent professional space with a clear ethical position and a distinct artistic practice.

Roman Akimov’s work is aimed at shaping theatre as a space of existential experience, where artistic action becomes a way of investigating human existence. His approach to leadership involves systematic work with creators, strict discipline within the process, a conscious refusal of superficial effect, and an orientation toward the inner authenticity of stage existence.

As Artistic Director, he is responsible for the conceptual architecture of the theatre: defining its artistic strategy, shaping its repertoire policy, establishing the method of work, and building the long-term development of the company and its educational direction.

He is the author of the First Public Theatre Workshop project, founded with the support of the Moscow Government.
